I ordered a kit for a sweet stout yesterday from morebeer.com. I made a cream stout about 8 months ago and thought it turned out great but had an idea to add coco power to the last 10 min of the boil and give it a bit of a chocolate flavor. I haven't made a stout since then so I haven't been able to try it out. I don't want to ruin a good batch of beer so how much coco powder should I add and should I add it to the boil or to the second fermenter instead?

I made a sweet chocolate stout a couple batches ago. It's delicious. I added 8 oz of very low fat chocolate powder 5 min before end of boil.

It was a high quality baking coco powder, very dark. My SIL picked it up for me cause it was a good price. Label says Black Cocoa Powder.
