Hello everybody I am probably overworried but this is my situation.
Brewed a Belgian blonde 6% ABV a while back and washed the yeast and put them in the fridgde. As they sat quite a while I diceded I would want to give them a little wake up to brew with some in about 3 weeks. So I made a 1.030 starter pitched some Wyeast nutrition mix and all of the yeast figuring they would be done very soon.
It had about 48 hours of lag time just sitting there doing absolutely nothing and yesterday it came to life. Today however it started forming Yellow krausen which I have never seen before.
Is this normal are am I looking at an infection starting to develop? I can't smell the starter until tomorrow because it's not at my place, but I have had some very bad smelling starters create excellent beer so not sure if that is a good thing to go on either way.
Would love to hear your opinions on this.
Regards
Thanks in advance,
Remi
