My last few batches I've been doing 2 step 1 qt starters. Yesterday i did my normal rotine of making a fresh starter and chilling it. Then i poured off the old one and add the new wort and capped it with foil. this morning i find it has over flowed. should i use it?

I've had that happen a couple of times and ended up OK. If it's still flowing like lava it's pushing everything outwards, making it impossible for anything to go inward.

As long as you've got still got the majority of your starter you'll be fine.
