I was wondering what type of british malt would be best for an AG sam smith taddy porter clone. I was looking at optic and crisp. any suggestions?

I just started drinking an attempt at a Taddy clone recipe of my own design that came out very well. I did a partial mash with Maris Otter for the base. The flavor is very close to the real deal.

I also used 8oz (by wt) of blackstrap molasses, which really nailed the Taddy flavor. The beer came out a little lighter in body than Taddy - I attribute that at least in part to the extract.
