I'm brewing today in March and the outside temperature is around 65 since I'm in San Antonio. I figured out a new way to tell if the starches in the mash are fully converted.

If you open the mash tun and a fly or bee shows up you have about 25% conversion.

If you get several bees and flies then you have 50% conversion.

When the flies and bees join forces, kick your ass and take your wort then you can be sure you have 100% conversion.

No I have not, i just hooked up with a guy I met on this site. He lives in patranco and 1604. We had a brew session on Sunday, we are looking for more people to join us and start a group. If you want to come to our next brew session let me know.

Wow... figures like that just seem too rounded off to not be accurate. You have a beautiful scientific mind. Thanks for all of the research!
