Hi. I am hoping to get some insight and input as I upgrade my brewing system. I just bought a March pump and my intensional was to modify my stand from three tier to two tier and also ad a HERMS coil to my HLT. But I also just read an article in BYO about heating the mash with a coil by recirculating water from the HLT. Then I read a really informative tread on here; "RIMS FOR DUMMIES", which also got me rethinking my process. I am not really looking to settle a RIMS vs HERMS debate ( I will probably go the HERMS route), but I am wondering if anyone on here read the BYO article and / or has any practice experience heating their mash this way? Hope my question makes sense enough to solicit some good input. Thanks much.
