Reusing oak chips

Oak chips, sure, they do lose some of their original potency, which can and will make them better suited for some beer.
Real cinnamon sticks, hmm, they also lose potency, but mostly in the area where we want them for, those fragrant high notes. If they were just used to stir a Latte, they still have a lot left and it would be sinful to toss them out.
The thick Cassia sticks (fake cinnamon), you can boil or stew them for hours and they still have something to share.
