Is it harmful to rehydrate dry yeast with distilled water?

Yes it is, do NOT us distilled or RO water...you need ions in the water to prevent an osmotic imbalance....use regular tap water at about 104F

Thanks. I figured there was something that would not be good about distilled water. It is what I have on hand. Is the chlorine in tap water, in the quantities needed for rehydration, a chlorophenol problem? I can run down the road and get some spring water.
