I have a 5 gal pumpkin ale recipe I make around this time of year, using 2 packs of Danstar Nottingham yeast to get a good fast fermentation.

I plan to reduce the recipe to 2.5 gallons this year, due to pipeline full, spice beers and pumpkin beers galore.

Do I need to reduce the yeast by half also, (1 pack only)?

Thanks in advance.

Yup! You can always double-check on how much yeast you need to pitch for a particular recipe using either Mr. Malty's Yeast Pitching Calculator or the calculator at YeastCalc.com (though I don't think Yeast Calc does dry yeast). Good luck!
