I missed my volume. Hence my gravity is high. 1.057 instead of expected 1.049.

Not a big deal but would like to add half a gallon of boiled water to cooled wort to get my proper gravity.

After calculations, adding the boiled water still hot to the cooled wort (67 degrees) should only raise the temp a few degrees. Is adding hot water to cool wort a problem?

A few questions:

How hot is hot?
Plastic or glass fermentor?
Have you pitched your yeast?

All that aside, boil your water, let it cool for an hour with the lid on and dump it in.

Good questions I should have answered first;)

Hot would be post boiling... Less than 212F but probably more than 180.

Plastic bucket.

Yeast is not pitched yet.

I can absolutely wait an hour. Thank you!
