I'm brewing a wheat beer and am currently mashing... Mash is THICK... everything is wet but there is no water resting on it... Do I add more water or am will I still get conversation?
I usually mash thick (1 qt water per lb) and the mash has the consistency of porridge. At the end of the mash, I do a mash out which increases my efficiency and makes it much easier to vorlauf. Never have conversion problems.
if you get conversation from your mash I'd be somewhat concerned. I don't think it's normal for your mash to speak to you. now if you mean conversion well then you should be fine
