Hello everyone, I'm new to home brewing and had a good idea of the steps I'm taking to make my batch. But yesterday while at the brew store I took a recipe they had in a recipe binder and it's different than the normal steep, dissolve extract, add hops, cool and add yeast.
It says to steep grains for 30 min, BUT then it says to start my boiling time and add my hops, then the next hops at 20 min, then at 15min add my extract while I've moved my kettle to the side so it's not boiling. Then add my last batch of hops after completing my boil and let steep for 10 min.
So my question is should I follow this and do the extract in the last 15 min of boiling or do it like I've read and do the extract at the beginning after I steep my grains.
