Doing some test runs and leak checks while I wait for USPS to deliver a few things. Darn holidays getting in the way of my first brew....

Do these numbers look good?
I have the SQ14 burner with a 7" shield around the burner. When opening up the regulator all the way with the breather valve open all the way the flame always shoots off the burner and goes out, so I can get it about 90% open.

Top #'s yesterday with 10 gallons, and I did 9 gallons today (bottom).

About all you can do with that burner. Banjo will get you up to about 100,000 BTU's and a Blichmann Hellfire up to 140,000 BTU's. My standard Blichmann is about 72,000 BTU's. I can get to mash temp on a 10 gal batch in about 15-20 minutes with water starting temps similar to yours...that's using an aluminum HLT which does heat up faster than SS.

Thanks! Never used one of these burners before and wanted to make sure I was not doing something wrong.
