Priming Sugar

First off, Does it matter what sugar I use to prime with? And Second is there a scale or chart that gives me an idea of how much of certain sugars to use in my 5 gallon batches? I have a surplus of organic cane and turbinado sugar, thats why I ask.

Yes, different priming ingredients require different amounts to equal the same volume of carbonation. Many cite different lengths of time and different carbonation properties.

Some sugars, like Turbinado, may leave residual flavors in you beer. But that might be what you are looking for.

Most people prime with DME, corn sugar, or honey.
