I decided to do my primary In a glass carboy this time, I didn't think about it till I woke up this morning and saw foam coming out into my blowoff tube. It's a lot and its a pretty big head. Will it hurt it if I lose the foam?

Only in that you'll be out that much beer. That's what blow-off tubes are for. :)

Well its not beer coming out, just foam. I have the blow off tube on. The head is just really big

The foam is formed by bubbles, and the bubble walls are made up of that beer. I had a really bad blow off, and when I got to it there was about half a gallon of beer that had pooled from the foam popping.

Sorry, I knew you had the tube on, I was saying you were doing the right thing.

if its a 5gallon carboy, you'll loose some noticeable volume.

a 6 or 6.5 carboy its just a little foam.
