My Extra Pale Ale has been in secondary for two weeks today. I was hoping to bottle but have to go out of town for a week. I've searched other threads, but haven't found specifically what I'm looking for. What are some pros and cons to leaving it in secondary for greater than 2 weeks?

Thank you as always for the great advice and info.

As long as your temps are pretty stable there are no cons.

The pros would be clarity, aging, and mellowing. Remember lagers are stored that way for months, preferably under a controlled temp. ;)

I do some lagers for 3 months in the secondary.

Thanks. I can go to Costa Rica with my mind at ease. Bavaria Gold, here I come!

I plan on keeping my Wee Heavy in a glass carboy for 6 months to age (thank you Pumbaa), I think an extra week will be okay.

Just make sure your airlocks dont go dry and you'll be fine.
