I have a Portuguese Floor Corker that I bought several years ago. It’s also been several years since I’ve used it. I’m using it to cork and cage Belgian 750ml bottles. I don’t remember having any issues corking Belgian Bottles in the past but it’s been nothing but problems now. The corks don’t want to go into the bottles smoothly, some times they just won’t go it. Any thoughts? Could it be the corks? They are the right size, 25.5mm.

1. It could be the size of the bottles. Is it easy to fully insert a cork?
If no, proceed to #2.
If yes, skip to #3.

2. It could be the cork. Are you doing anything to soften the cork like soaking or steaming?

3. It could be your corking process. How are you partially inserting the corks?
