Corks appear dented when inserted.

I’ve been using a handheld corker and all of my wine bottles look like this. I’ve tried soaking the corks and no improvement.

Any ideas why it’s happening?

That's normal for a two handed corker. I don't think there's really any way to avoid it, except to switch to a floor corker.
 
does it seal? don't worry about it.

when it's time, pop the cork and enjoy.
 
Yes it seals. It’s more the aesthetics as I give some as gifts.
You could put shrink capsules on to cover up the cork on the bottles you give as gifts. Makes the bottle look even more professional.

That's a fine looking cork IMHO, you should see some of mine - more dented and uneven, sometimes the top edge of the cork torn.
