I just kicked my last bag of 2-row on my last batch but have about 20 lbs of belgian pilsner from the last order I made, hoping to make a belgian but deciding not to.

I want to brew a nice pale ale and use the belgian as the base. Any advice on what the end effect will be? Lighter color I bet...

Lighter color, and just a different flavor profile. Obviously the two grains taste different. But it won't be bad. Be sure to add some caramel malts to buff it up a bit, maybe a touch of Victory. It'll be nice and light and tasty.

Another idea would be to use some Munich, maybe 10%, in your grain bill to balance the pilsner.

Good luck with the experimentation!
