This is my first time creating a recipe, looking for some thoughts/comments/ advice

Okay, since this is sorta similar to my pale ale, I'll give you some hints:

If at nothing more than the rest of your malt bill stays the same, leave the Carafa out. You're going to get plenty of color, trust me.

That's my "pale ale/IPA" that turned out more like an IPA. It's only ~9 lbs 2 Row, 1lb C40, 12 oz Carapils, and 1 OZ Carafa III.

Next, I'd stick with the C40, and maybe make it like 10 oz. Drop the 80. I'd use Vienna instead of the Aromatic, personally. 10%+ Crystal is going to be quite sweet.

Your hops are a good choice, but I'd drop the Chinook to .25 ounce, as you're going to have a lot of perceived bitterness from the later additions. My "Pale Ale" above was only 35 IBU and drank like an IPA. You've got 40+.


Otherwise man, I think it's pretty solid.
