Oatmeal, How I Hate Thee

I'm making a coffee oatmeal imperial stout today and my slow batch sparging is killing me. Sun is going down and it's starting to get cold. Curses on you oatmeal for making my runoff so slow, even though your creaminess will be appreciated later. Uhhh.....

Did you use rice hulls? I always use rice hulls with any flaked oats or wheat.

Unfortunately, no. I will definitely use them next time. Only 3/8 of a gallon to go. Only been sparging for 2 hrs 20 minutes so far.

You want to hate me instead? I use the brew in a bag system and never have a stuck sparge. Lots of oats? No problem. You might want to look into that and use it or a modified bag when you are mashing with oats.
