My brew crew attempted to make an experimental IPA today (my first try at an IPA) We decided to use 2oz of Galena for the last 45 minutes of the 60 minute boil and 1oz of liberty for the last 30 minutes (all pellets).
The store was out of Galena so we substituted with Nugget.
After chilling and yeast pitching, I tasted the hydrometer sample as I usually do. It wasn't especially hoppy in aroma or flavor, which surprised me a lot. Can anyone explain why this possibly happened?
Thanks!
Nic
