Hi all. New to the forum, recently returned to brewing after a few years hiatus. In my previous brewing experience, I brewed 5 gallon extract batches. In my reincarnation, I'm brewing 1 gallon all grain. That's right, 1 gallon. It's a good size for a small apartment. Don't have to hog up a whole room with equipment. It all stores nicely in the kitchen pantry. I've got three 1 gallon cider jugs (they are really about 1.1 gallons) for fermenting. So far it has been working well, except that there is so little headspace, I have to duct tape down the bung and blowoff tube or they get blown right out by the krausen.
I'm really liking all grain much more than extract. Lots more control and fine tuning, it seems to me.
Anyhow, glad to be here. Cheers.
Matt
