Hello all,

Ive been wanting to get into this for years so here i am! I like pale ales, a good, favorful pils and lagers. I am ready to order a starter kit but dont want to buy something ill end up dumping in six months when my skill progresses. Ive been looking at a few sites from the reviews section:

austin and midwest. any advice on the best value kit? i have plenty of bottles :) dont need those in the kit necessarily.

I'm out in Memphis also. Welcome. I started with stuff from Austin and Northern brewer. I think everyone has about the same type of stuff to get you going. As long as you have a Carboy, bucket with sealable lid and stoppers/air locks for both of those, a racking cane, large funnel with screen, thermometer, hydrometer, a large pot with lid and a long spoon... you'll be good for extract brewing all day long. A capper for your bottles and caps and your set. I've got tons of caps, priming sugar, etc if you want to save a few bucks. I keg now, got tired of scrubbing bottles out. Shoot me a message if you need help. I brew most every weekend out in shelby forest if you get bored.
