I bought a home made brew sculpture from another home brewer about two years ago. It is is very solid construction with three burners and I really like it. However the burner for the hot liquor tank does not provide enough power and I want to swap it.
The burner for the mesh ton is an old fashioned bayou stile burner. That style which is used with all the turkey fryers. This one works great and produces lots of heat.

The burner for the boil kettle is one of these jet burners with 23 tip jet burners. Also this one does a good job. One of these:

But the burner for the hot liquor tank is only a 10 tip jet burner.

And the regulator is a precimex 3001. This unit does not provide enough heat.

I already cleaned the jets and replaced some of them but it takes way too long to heat the water. The old fashioned bayou burner under the mesh tun is much faster.

I don't have room for 23 tip jet burner because of how the rig is constructed. So I wanted to replace the 10 tip jet burner with a bayou burner. But I don't know what parts I need. Also would it be low pressure or high pressure? And what type of regulator?
Lots of questions.

Side remark: I do not want to use the rubbery hoses from the fryer kits because of the heat. The guy who built this rig used flexible metal gas lines which I wanted to reuse. I can take pictures if that helps.

Also: So far I could not find a store in my neighbor hood which sells these burner parts and which could provide some guidance.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Stefan

I think your problem is the regulator. It is a low pressure one. Get a adjustable high pressure one. I use a 10 jet on natural gas which doesn't put as much heat as propane under my keggle. It works a lot better than the old fashioned bayou stile burner that I replaced. It gets plenty hot just look at the bottom rim of my keggle it's all blue from the heat. If I look at the steel bars underneath the keggle they glow cherry red.

Thanks a lot. I still have a regulator on the hose of my turkey fryer which I don't need anymore. But I am not sure if this is high or low pressure. There are no PSI markings on the regulator.
