My Little Pony "Brony" ??

This is a joke right? I heard about this on Howard Stern. I never even heard of My Little Pony before then let alone a Brony. The is a kids animated cartoon with ponies, I did an internet search. A Brony is a guy who is a fan of the show. They have conventions and dress up...and it gets worse. Apparently some of these "guys" pleasure themselves to the cartoon ponies. How in the hell??

for fear of being labeled a "brony", I do have a 2 year old daughter. She loves the horsie show. And as far as kids shows go, it's not horrible. It's the same art style as the powerpuff girls. From a purely, "forced to watch kids shows" perspective, it's definately not the most annoying show out there. As far as the sexual deviancy bit, ya, that's a bit too far. It'd be like getting off to care-bears or thinking the squirrel on sponge-bob is hot.

I can't even see how you can find the female ponies arrousing. Not like they have boobs and wear thongs....maybe in the porn version, but I wouldn't know.

You honestly expect more from a society that has championed it's self on 30+ years of girl power? Bitchification, Pussification, wussified . . . take your pick of terms. I wouldnt be shocked if they don a bubble wrap suit and helmet so if they fall off the couch while watching you wont get a boo boo

I was afraid to respond to this thread in fear of what the advertisements might start showing.

I was kind of weirded out by the idea of men watching My Little Pony, so I did a little research on this (Mr. Stern is known to blow things out of proportion ).

Apparantly these guys/girls called "bronies" are a fan of the new My Little Pony series that started airing in October 2010. The "brony" thing started a few months later in 2011. The old shows before the 2010 one are never mentioned on any "brony" article or whatever. The show was made by Lauren Faust , a famous cartoonist who is responsible for many well-known cartoons in the 90s, who tried to make the show a lot less girly than it's predecessors. The fandom has grown quite a bit since 2011, consisting of people from all walks of life. I've even seen well-known actors (John deLancie, Seth Green) and musicians (Andrew WK) in the brony fandom. Heck, even some military veterans were at BronyCon. As far as I can tell so far (basically after only 30 minutes of googling stuff ), it seems Stern blew the "Sexually attracted" thing way out of proportion. It seems to me only a really small part (less than 1%) of the bronies is interested in the "Pony Rule 34" stuff.

In my personal opinion this whole brony thing seems pretty harmless to me. It's comparable to the Star Trek fandom, you have guys who like it with all their heart, collect everything and such, but it's mostly people who just enjoy a show.
