So I am typing this from our hotel room in Hammond, IN because I can't sleep! I figured I would give my review about this place since there is SO much hype about it.

We left Ohio yesterday morning about 9 am, and after stopping at our hotel and checking in and what not, we arrived at 3 Floyds at about 230pm. We made a quick stop at Nicks liquor after calling everywhere in the area and finding out they had Zombie Dust, so we picked up the last 6 of zombie dust and bought a couple bombers of War Mullet. I went with 3 of my best friends and it was all our first time going. We got there, and there is a ton of construction going on, and the first thing you see when you pull in are 2 big tanks which means definitely more beer. Great news. Three of us waited about 20 minutes in line at the kiosk to pick up beer while the other went to reserve a table. At the kiosk, I ended up with two cases of gumballhead, a bomber of dreadnaught, a 6 of pride & joy, and another 6 of gumball to give to my dad. GBH is my absolute favorite and if you never had it, it definitely lives up to the hype. I have only been able to find it in Ohio once and I bought all that I could.

Anyways, we put the beer in the car and waited about an hour to be seated. Have to wait outside until it's your time to be seated, and it started raining which really sucked.. but we survived. The pub is tiny compared to what I expected it to be. I started out with a pint of zombie dust.. and it was absolutely incredible hands down. Then I had a pint of the Secret Sub Lair that says it is brewed up a still un-named hop. Some other beers I got to try was the S. Nevada/3F collab Chico king, drunk monk, chevalier bertrand du guesclin (blueberry sour), and permanent funeral (incredible). I ordered the 3 Floyds burger with parmesan/garlic fries. One downfall is everything is put on one bill and you have to figure out how to split it up because they can't split it.

I had such an amazing time. We ended up heading down the road to a place called Beer Geeks for a couple beers afterwards as well. OH, and the greatest thing.. we went to the horse shoe casino last night after all of our other activities and they even had gumball head, alpha king and pride & joy at the casino. Nothing like a slot machine and a 3F. (and i ended up winning 70 bucks).

Like I said, I had an amazing time. If you get the opportunity to check it out, I highly recommend it. Were going to stop by Bulldog brewing and 18th street today in whiting on the way home.

Update: The only bulldog beer I liked out of 8 that I tried was the oatmeal stout. Everything else tasted the same and watered down. The food was excellent though. 18th street has some incredible beer though, especially paired with a big ass pretzel!

There's a pizza/Italian joint here in Southern Indiana that regularly carries Zombie dust and Gumballhead. It's good stuff, and the brewery sounds like a good time!

Amazing how tastes vary amongst beer drinkers. Love me some GBH but that War Mullet is easily my favorite beer across the board. I've been getting a different bomber every week and loving the varieties. Haven't had the chance to try out Zombie Dust but I've got the Intel on when/where to pick it up. I'm lucky enough to live about ten minutes away from 3F, but haven't found a babysitter yet so its on the "to-do" list for now.
