I came across a mead in a southern cook book called mountain mead, it called for a cup of mixed berries, a pound or two of strawberries, honey, one vanilla bean. Mix everything up add yeast of your choice and leave for a month or two.

I have a **** tone of apples so I changed some things on it.

I did one cup of mixed berries, cooked down 7 honey crisp apples and drained juice, two pounds cherries simi-sweet, medium jar of pure clover honey and tossed In one whole vanilla beanView attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1431467789.470290.jpg

Sounds like a melomel that's HEAVY on the fruit. Sounds awesome, though! Made an apple wine very similar to the BOMM recipe, only with just Jona Golds and no honey. Tell us how it turns out!
