Does anyone out there know how to calculate the volume of malt in both its milled and unmilled states? I'm trying to figure out my best storage options and want to know which one is going to take up more space. Is there an equation anyone can pass along?

Thanks for your help!

The 55lb bag I had bought from north country malt, I ordered milled, and they put it back in the same bag it had came in.

But if you have a mill at your disposal than buy unmilled as it lasts longer

And I fit somewhere around 30-35lbs of that milled grain in a 7 gallon bucket and the remainder in another bucket.

The 7gallon bucket that I filled with 30-35lbs was filled to the brim. And it was a guestimate not a measured weight. I just know I had it all in 2x 7gal buckets:mug:
