Hello.

I'm considering doing a low gravity lager with just a touch of Munich for flavor, sort of a compromise between German and American worlds....

1.040 OG target

Mash low, 149, 2 hrs...aim for dry finish

10 pct Munich
90 pct 2 row

Saaz or hallertau hops, 10 ibus bittering, plus 1/2 oz at 20 mins

S189 lager slurry

Thoughts?

For sure. I've recently been using brulosopher's fast lager regimen with success. Probably mid fifties at first.

I think it would be a nice one. I'm wanting to do something like this too. Might throw in a touch of Vienna as well

Quibbling isn't nice but a spirited (polite) debate is entertaining, informative and even, dare I say, healthy.

Debate is good, for sure. Just not interested in discussion of what length of time and temp constitutes a true "lager"-I've seen enough of that in reading brewing forums for the past 20 years
