I have these 20oz plastic bottles..they are kinda thick...(clear)
---contents were carbonated sparkling water----
i bought plastic screw tops *from ahs* they fit perfect...

i squeeze hard no air pressures looses and i dont hear any sound......
what do you think??
i really dont feel like shelling out $$$ for bottles, when i have these in ambundence...

They will probably work if you are in a jam, but I would highly reccomend getting some glass bottles. Don't shell out $$$ for glass bottles, just save your bottles when you drink a beer, and tell all your freinds to do the same. Before you know it you'll so many bottles you won't know what to do with them all.

I really dislike your plastic ones because they are clear as well. Of course if you have a way to keep them out of the light 100% of the time then you will be fine. But even 5 minutes of exposure to sunlight can skunk a beer a little.
 
+1 on the above. Brown glass crown tops (not twist-offs) are your best bet.
