I'm in the process of converting over to kegging and need assistance with sizing on a chest freezer so I'm hoping someone has one of these two freezer models I'm looking at it.

I'm looking at the 5.0 and 7.0 cu ft Insignia chest freezers listed below and wondering if there is enough clearance to fit two ball lock corny kegs without a collar? To keep my initial costs low, I'm planning to use a picnic tap for the time being so there would also need to be room for the connections on top of the keg.

7.0 cu ft - https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-7-0-cu-ft-chest-freezer-white/6385046.p?skuId=6385046

5.0 cu ft - https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-5-0-cu-ft-chest-freezer-white/6385028.p?skuId=6385028

Thanks!

I fit two 5 gallon cornys and a 10 lb CO2 tank in my 7.0 cu without a collar.

When I had a 5 LB CO2 I could just squeeze in three cornys and the CO2 on the bump.

How many kegs/beers would you want on tap eventually? Buy accordingly.

Yeah, make sure the keg plus the mounted QD/line fit with the lid closed.

Even with picnic taps, to keep O2 out, look into using EVA Barrier line for both beer and gas from the get-go. They are best used with Push to Connect fittings. MFL disconnects on kegs and regulator (or distributor/manifold) are the easiest to attach those too. Barbs are sucky. The picnic tap connection itself may need a little invention/adaption using a very short piece of 3/16" thick walled vinyl beer line, as it's a rather big barb. Not sure you could stretch a 5 mm ID EVA line over it directly.
