I'm new to home beer brewing. I've successfully brewed two batches of beer to date but have been limited to using pre-packaged beer kits. They have turned out quite well but I would like to learn more about which ingredients do what to the taste of the beer. ie, what does the grain do to the taste, what does the hops do, what does the type of yeast have to do with the taste... Does anyone know of a good resource to find out this kind of information so I can start customizing my own beer?

Jim Bushes Malts 101 has a lot of good info.

Norm Pyle has a great hop FAQ. Well worth the whole read!!! Hopflavor desc.at the end, don't give up. Lots of contribtors!!

If this doen't start your head spinning, let me know..
