If you could have any object turned into a tap handle, what would it be?

I will show this to my kids. I think at least one of them will think it's AWESOME, but probably not awesome enough to give me her Sonic Screwdriver!

Or the 8-Ball that I drilled to epoxy onto my hand shift lever for my '36 Flathead-45. If I wasn't still using it to shift! hahaha! ;)

Let me know when you get it done done and what you did, now that I see it I really want it :mug:

the bit that i wast to change/fix is that the union nut i used is very visible and not very pretty. i'm thinking of just putting a bit of pipe on it, painted either black or to match the fridge.

i can post the parts i used if it's not totally obvious to anyone, and if anyone is interested.

A wooden or metal piece with a bic on the top attacked to one of the zip line holders so it could be replaced.
or a bottle opener to be ironic

I've considered the bottle opener before, but I'm afraid someone will try to use it and spill all my beer.

I would mount it working end down too...

As for people not being able to use it... That's the point. Why would you open up a bottle (unless it's home brew too) with good/great home brew on tap?? If that keg has kicked, then you can remove the opener handle and use it normally.

Maybe make a quick disconnect connection for the faucet and handle. :rockin:

Of course, I don't think I have enough clearance where my taps are located (freezer top fridge) so I couldn't use that as a handle. I might have to pick one up to see. If it is, I know of a really good welder that I could have put a 3/8" nut onto it for me. :D

A sonic screwdriver

trying to find a version of the tenth doctor's screwdriver, and maybe the master's laser screwdriver, that would convert as easily as my eleventh doctor's while still being removable (and i don't even have a 2nd or 3rd keg yet!)

I am thinking an old atari joystick would be cool.. It would match my 80's themed taps and i have a new one that needs a handle.. Or maybe a stretch armstrong.. might be hard to thread it for a tap though without making a big gooey mess:D

New guy here, this is my setup.

Another idea I was toying with
2012-08-03114053.jpg

Do you think one of those miniature pumpkins you see around halloween and thanksgiving would work as a temporary tap handle? Maybe get a week or two out of it? Perfect for those fall-themed beers that will be consumed quickly...

A freeze dried turkey head, because I think about hunting turkeys every day......and the calls I've made over the past eight years that sound like crap are used as coasters, so it would work.

I have a 20mm shell fired from a ah-1w cobra I'm going to make into a tap handle.

I have a few of those too. I also have some .50 cal BMG shells and inert rounds either that can be made into handles, or already are. :rockin:

I have some elk horn that I'm thinking about making some handles out of too...

Another great idea. I have a 25mm shell from the main gun on a Bradley Fighting Vehicle. That would make a very cool tap handle, especially if I could fashion a projectile tip out of wood (or some other material) to replace the one I sent down-range!

I'd like to have on tap a ridiculously hot capsicumel, and have the tap handle be a vulcanized rubber mold of my hand giving the middle finger.

Yup. I've done it. Used an orange gourd. We dried it from instructions on the internet but it wasn't quite firm enough. So we filled it with great stuff. Problem was it was too wet and caused rotting after ~1-2 months.

thanks for the info.. As usual, my "original" idea has already been done.. Day late and a dollar short

That might not be hard to do, you could get mold making putty and plaster from the craft store an coler the plaster in liquid latex.

Or buy one of the "make your own marital aid" kids from a porn store and use you hand instead of.. well you know. Also before someone asks yes..yes I have and its cold

I think the 'adult toy' tap handle could be a good one for something BIG that will really F you up.

I was thinking theat you could use it for your favorite brew, that way the other guys dont wanna touch it..especailly after you tell em its molded from yours.....

And yes revy yes it dose , not a process I would got though by choice again

I don't have enough clearance over my taps to do that. :rockin:

Just made another tap handle... Drilling the hole to run the tap (to thread it) was a bit more trouble than I had expected, but I still got it done pretty fast.

The new one is in the middle. :D

Looking at picking up a fake suppressor and turning that into a handle too. :D I'll just need to make an adapter from the threads on it, to what the taps use. :D
