All the calculators use slurry and can adj thickness. I had a 6 week old slurry (about 1 liter) of Augustiner lager strain from a local brewery. I wanted to grow it up as it sat in the lager fridge at 35F for so long.
I made 2x 2L starters, one stir plated a little, but sediment stopped the stir bar at some point. Anyway 6 days later this is what I have. Obviously dark bottom band is trub/ old yeast, but how do I calculate a dense white approx 200ml band of yeast?
I am going to step up each flask to a 3L in a gallon jug just to get more and because I am making 18gallons of lager, but want to know how to measure the band when determining pitch rate. Thanks

So a slurry is considered 75% yeast and 25%liquid? Because that is a pretty compact band about 200ml yeast. Thanks for any input
