Fast starts is basically an indication that you either pitched huge colony (cell count) or you didn't have enough oxygen.

Actually been thinking this over, and I did make a mason jar size starter and when I transfer to the primary I pour through a funnel so I would think I get decent aeration with that plus giving it a good shake.
