So I have a big bag of really nice cacao nibs i received from a chocolate maker about a year to a year and a half ago. I used a bunch but could not use nearly all of it over the course of the last winter brewing season. I was wondering if you guys think they would still be good to use. They have been stored in two ziplock bags deep in our food pantry which is dark and dry. Looking to use about half a pound in a breakfast stout this week.

They should be good still. I've never seen a bag go rancid, they're just nuts essentially. I saved some from the garbage at the last restaurant I worked at, well past the expiration date...still tasted good, and infused good flavor into my beer.

Ps, I didn't take them out of the garbage. They were burried in dry storage.
