1.5 gallons Apple cider
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 lb golden light DME
safale us-05

is that too much DME? too much or too little maple?
comments? suggestions?

Depends on what you are trying to achieve. I'm a purist who believes in not adding any sugar to make cider, but not everyone is me. So I guess the questions are - "Why are you adding those?" to find out what kind of roll it is playing and if it is doing that well enough with those quantities. Are you adding the DME and maple syrup to increase the alcohol content? Are you adding the maple syrup to get a maple like taste? Also, it might be useful for us to know if you are planning on having a sweet or dry cider?

I am hoping for a little maple flavor and for the DME to add a little body along with the higher abv. I could be totally off base with this...
