Hose barb Caps?

I've been searching as much as I can, but I can't seem to find what I'm wanting. I'd like to put some sort of cap on my hose barb connections (chiller, fittings, etc) to sanitize them and then store them. I thought maybe the caps for the keg faucets would work great, but they're too big. I'm using 1/2 inch barb fittings. Does anyone have any ideas?

Maybe diy it with silicone/vinyl tubing and silicone caulking?

You think just cut off a short length of silicone hose and fill the end with 100% silicone caulking? That would be pretty simple.

That's my thought from an easy/cheap solution.
