I am about to have a stainless hood made for my basement brew room. It appears that most condensation hoods are 18"-24" in height. Due to the fact that my ceiling height is ~7.2' & there are copper water supply lines suspended from by ceiling (~2.75"), I am hoping to get away with a hood in the 12" - 14" height range. A hood at 18" would put it at eye level & I am only 5'8". ;)
I already have an inline fan mounted to ceiling & vented outside. Without a hood is not as effective as I was hoping.

What is the distance from you kettle to bottom of your hood?
What is you hood height?
How effective is your setup on controlling vapor & condensation?
