So i brewed what is a hoppy red.. and its not very good! Any weird ideas for putting something in other then dry hopping maybe adding some herbs or juices

7 lb briess 2 row pale malt
3 lb weyermann carared
1 lb. belgian special b malt
.5 lb. gambrinus honey malt
.5 lb. crisp amber
001 white lab california ale
1 oz citra @60
1 oz falconers flight @30
1 oz mosaic @ 20 min
1 pound sugar @ 15
1 oz. citra @ 10
1 oz centenial @ boil out
1.055 og 1.020 now
THIS BEER ISNT ALL THAT BAD BUT ISNT GREAT I NEED TO DO SOME FUNKY STUFF TO HELP IT..

I don't know what you mashed at but it looks like it didn't attenuate enough and could be to sweet. You have lots of hops but a 1.020 could be throwing off that flavor with an overly sweet taste. Did you use a yeast starter? What temp did you ferment at and for how long?

too much carared and special b individually, added together it's way too much crystal malt. i don't even know what funky stuff would help this.

Agreed. The beer is about 40% crystal malt/honey malt. The recipe is greatly flawed, as there may not even be enough diastastic power to convert it in the mash.

I don't know what can help this, but if you want to try to save it some dryhopping won't hurt.

I don't think adding coffee or cocoa nibs or anything like that would help this.

yeah... i failed damn.... but all my other brews have turned out great so its about time i mess up... well thanks guys for taking a look... your right its over sweet. also it was mashed at 155 for 1 hour i used cali yeast
