I just got a monster mill, and as it happened it was time to make and can a batch of canned sweet wort. I thought this would be a good test run for the mill. It was, in a sense; my efficiency went from 60-something to 87%, giving me 7 gallons of wort to can rather than the planned for 5.5.
However, I'm a bit concerned that the higher water to grain ratio in this batch might be throwing that off somewhat, especially given that the efficiency gain was so dramatic. I usually prefer an OG somewhere around 1.060 and 1.065, depending on the style. Does anyone have any advice on what efficiency I might expect with more grain in the mash?
