Girlfriend requested a coffee stout for her birthday. I was going to make a Founders Breakfast clone, but Midwest's Java Stout was easier to order .
9 lbs. Domestic 2-Row barley
1 lb. Flaked Oats
14 oz. Chocolate Malt
4 oz. Flaked Barley
4 oz. Caramel 60L
16 oz. Roasted Barley
1/2 oz. Cascade (60 min)
1 oz. Fuggles (30 min)
2 oz Course Ground Little River Roasting Coffee at flameout
2 oz Little River Roasting Coffee; Cold brewed in 8oz French Press, added at bottling
2.5 oz Dark bittersweet baker's chocolate at 15 mins.
1.5 oz Unsweetened chocolate baking nibs at 15 mins.
The base is Midwest's Java Stout, but I modified it to have oats, chocolate, and local coffee. Does this sound like it'll work?
