A few years ago I bought my dad, who lives in MD, a beginner's equipment kit. Since then, we make a beer whenever we're together in MD, which is maybe twice a year.
Two months ago, a friend and I went in on an equipment kit up here in NY and have brewed 3 beers since then: A spiced Winter Ale, a Fat Tire clone, and a Rogue Hazelnut. Tomorrow we'll be making Brandon O's Graff recipe, from this forum.
Often when we get stuck or just curious about some minute aspect of the process, we look for (and always find) answers at homebrewtalk. Glad you guys are out there and delighted to be a part of the community!
