I'm tempted to start a build on a homemade glycol chiller, and I wonder, it appears that most of these builds secure the evaporator coil to the cooler, to where the cooler can't be removed. Is there a possibility of slimy water in that cooler then? How would you clean the cooler, if that were to happen?

Unlikely. Most glycol you get will be "inhibited" meaning it has additives to prohibit stuff from growing in it. Couple that with temperature
