I have an Alaskan Amber clone that was still fairly hazy when I racked into the keg and I figured a few days in the fridge while carbing would help clear it up. It hasn't.

Anyone know of any ill side effects if I let it warm up, depressurize, add gelatin then repressurize and chill?

No bad side effects. I had a 10 gallon batch of Red Hook ESB that was terminally cloudy...not hazy...but cloudy. THe first keg never cleared. I decided to degass the second keg, add in the gelatin and go again.

World of difference. Crystal clear. Rmember though that it may take 2 weeks before absolute clarity is achieved (geez, I sound like a bad Kung Fu episode sound bite).

Answer to your question...no ill side effects...been dare dun dat.

Thanks BierMuncher. Trying to get it ready for tailgating in 20 days with a bunch of BMC drinkers. It tastes awesome but if it's not clear (at least in their solo cups) it'll never go over.

Try to get that keg to its final serving destination with an hour or two to spare.

The gelatin just causes the stuff to settle better...it doesn't make it go away. So if you jostle it around, you'll be mixing up the stuff again. Should re-settle pretty quickly though if it's cold.

well, if i let it settle in the lagerator between now and the first game less than 3 weeks away and pull a glass before I move it, won't most of the trub (or whatever you call it at this point) that's settled out be sucked out of the dip tube?
