First partial mash question

I tapped my first partial mash batch this weekend. It is a spotted cow clone (got the recipe on this websight) It turned out great color, clarity & taste all great. The only thing I noticed is there was more of a hoppy aroma from the beer (not that I don't like it) I was just wondering what might cause that. Aroma hops left in to long? New to a.g. & partial mashing. I would assume it has somthing to do with the boil... but I'm not shure. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for you help
