So, I've made several batches of beer without issues, but I may be having a problem with my cider.
My concern is two fold, I pressed fresh apples, used 1 tablet per gallon campden for 24 hours with only a brew bag covering the bucket.
I took the Wyeast Cider smack pack out, broke the nutrient shook, and waited for over 3 hours and the pouch hadn't swollen at all. It was a new pack, only from June of this year.
I finally added yeast nutrient to the cider and pitched it anyway, well it's almost been 24 hours and I don't see any signs of fermentation.
Do you think I should try to get some more yeast or let it go for awhile longer?
Thanks!
