Thanks to all the amazing information I found on here while lurking we just popped our very first batch of beer into the fermenter late last night!

Thanks for this amazing forum

Details! What kind? Ag or extract. Also welcome!

We used a half and half method, part amber malt extract part oatmeal and roasted barley. Challenger hops and Kent Golding to finish.

An oatmeal stout, it was black as midnight on a moonless night!

Poetic! I like that, we need more of that around here ;)

Welcome to HBT and congrats on your first batch. On Christmas Day, I occupied my father-in-law (who was on day three of their visit with us) by brewing a sweet stout.

Oh and it was part amber malt extract and part BIAB with roasted barley and oatmeal. Challenger hops to bitter and I believe Kent Goldings to finish.

What a brilliant Christmas activity! My brew partner Matt had family by and they were pretty fascinated by the process.

Welcome!! Here is hoping you have as much fun drinking your brew as you did making it!
