just finished brewing brewers best robust porter.the ferment pale is sitting in the basement at about 69 degrees. hopefully good things will start to happen.
 
I doubt it. Yeast are pretty rugged little creatures. Did you check the temperature of the wort before you pitched? You should pitch your yeast when the temps are below 80F. The closer to your fermentation temp, the better.
 
Keep working and try to get the beer down to 70. Otherwise you're going to have some off banana smells and it's going to have a lot of headache causing alcohols...
